چکیده
Rainfall-induced landslide is a common natural hazard, and one of the disaster-causing factors loss apparent cohesion that mainly caused by dissipation matric suction. To analyze rainfall-induced landslide, especially post-failure behaviors, suction model proposed incorporated into Discontinuous Deformation Analysis (DDA). In this model, simplified as an equivalent line load updated at each time step. The safety factor simple sliding simulated extended DDA (DDA_c) showed good agreement with limit equilibrium method. relationship between runout distance degree saturation multi-block was validated experimental results. Finally, in Fukuchi-machi using DDA. results illustrated important mechanism for initiation crucial reason long-runout distance. presented DDA_c can be served qualified tool to shallow slope stability behavior involving cohesion.

Analysis of Rainfall-Induced Landslide on Unsaturated Soil Slopes
This paper investigates rainfall-induced landslides on partially saturated soil slopes using the 2011 Umyeonsan landslides at the center of Seoul, Korea. An integrated analysis of rainfall-induced landslide was carried out through laboratory tests, field tests, and numerical analysis. The results of comprehensive investigations in the Umyeonsan region demonstrate that landslide activity is clos...
متن کاملPrediction of rainfall induced landslide movements by artificial neural networks
Many slow to moderate landslides are monitored in order to react on time and prevent loss of lives and reduce material damage. In most of such cases there are very limited data on the geometry, hydrogeological and material properties of the landslide. The aim of the paper is to test the ability of artificial neural networks (ANN) to make reliable short term predictions of rainfall induced lands...
متن کاملRainfall-induced landslide susceptibility zonation of Puerto Rico
Landslides are a major geologic hazard with estimated tens of deaths and $1–2 billion in economic losses per year in the US alone. The island of Puerto Rico experiences one or two large events per year, often triggered in steeply sloped areas by prolonged and heavy rainfall. Identifying areas susceptible to landslides thus has great potential value for Puerto Rico and would allow better managem...
متن کاملLimit Equilibrium Analysis of the Influence of Matric Suction on Unsaturated Soil Slope Stability
In slope engineering, soils are commonly at unsaturated state. The question of how to apply unsaturated soil mechanics theory to the slope stability analysis has become a hot spot in today’s geotechnical engineering research. Based on the experimental research of how shear strength of residual soil varies with water content, reasonable computation modules can be created. By using limit equilibr...
